Synthetic Terphenyl Heat Transfer Oil (L-QD350)

Product overview

Product information

L-QD350 synthetic terphenyl heat transfer oil is a high-temperature fluid based on terphenyl chemistry. Terphenyl fluids are chosen where the process needs a bulk temperature above what alkylbenzene or aromatic hydrocarbon fluids can hold, and where the system is designed as a genuinely sealed loop.

Typical service is high-temperature indirect heating in chemical and petrochemical plants, solar thermal and heat-recovery circuits, and industrial processes that run continuously at high temperature.

These fluids are less forgiving than mineral oils: they need a properly designed expansion system, a nitrogen blanket or other protection against air contact, and attention to the minimum flow rate through the heater. The TDS gives the physical data, the maximum bulk and film temperatures for the class, and the handling requirements; the SDS is supplied with the goods.
