How do you choose an additive?

The useful starting point is the application: the base oil, operating conditions, target performance and the other components already present in the formulation.

A product data sheet can narrow the options, but dosage, compatibility and the finished formulation still need to be considered together. Maven helps customers compare the relevant product information before moving to trials.

Why validate the full formulation?

A component can perform well in an initial screening test and behave differently once it enters a complete lubricant or grease system. Base oil chemistry, thickener structure and interactions between additives can all change the result.

For that reason, selection should progress from laboratory screening to formulation-level testing and, where the application requires it, equipment or field validation under defined conditions.

What helps us recommend faster?

Share the intended application, current formulation or base oil, target dosage, required specifications and the operating conditions that matter most. Existing test results and known compatibility constraints are equally valuable.

A clear technical brief helps the Maven team focus the discussion, identify suitable product information and agree on the next practical step—whether that is documentation, a sample or further evaluation.
