Base Oil 150N (Group II)

Product overview
Product information
Base Oil 150N is a hydroprocessed Group II base stock: high saturates (typically above 90 percent), low sulphur (below 0.03 percent) and a viscosity index in the Group II band. Compared with Group I it gives better oxidation stability, lighter colour and more predictable volatility, which is why most modern engine and hydraulic oils are built on Group II stocks.
Its higher viscosity index means the oil thins less as temperature rises, so a 150N formulation can meet a given viscosity grade with less viscosity-index improver – useful for shear-stable hydraulic and gear oils as well as for engine oils.
Typical applications: passenger-car and heavy-duty engine oils, hydraulic oils, industrial gear oils, turbine and circulating oils, compressor oils and general blending. Group II stocks have lower solvency than Group I, so additive packages and seal compatibility should be checked when reformulating. The TDS provides physical properties and packing details; the SDS ships with each order.
