Base Oil 150SN (Group I)

Base Oil 150SN is one of the most widely used Group I base oils. It is a light solvent-neutral stock with balanced solvency, lubricity and viscosity behaviour, which is why it appears in a very wide range of industrial and automotive lubricant formulations.

Because Group I base oils are solvent-refined rather than hydroprocessed, 150SN retains natural aromatics and sulphur. That gives it good additive solubility and strong solvency for oxidation products – an advantage in older equipment and in formulations where seal compatibility and solvency matter.

Typical applications: hydraulic oils, industrial gear oils, circulating and turbine oils, compressor oils, general-purpose machine oils, metalworking fluids and as a blending component for engine oils. It is commonly combined with 100SN or 250SN to hit a target viscosity grade. The TDS lists physical properties, packing and availability; the SDS is supplied with every shipment.
